Authorities have released the identities of two Minneapolis men who were fatally shot and stabbed last week.
About 2 a.m. Sunday, James Curtis Butts, 35, was fatally shot outside in the 2100 block of 4th Street N.
Officers treated Butts until an ambulance arrived and took him to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he died, police said. According to a late Monday news release from the Hennepin County medical examiner’s office, Butts was shot multiple times.
Dimitri Randolph Manning, 51, was stabbed in the neck Friday night, found in downtown Minneapolis and died Sunday morning, the medical examiner’s office said.
Shortly after 8 p.m. Friday, people walking near the 800 block of Park Avenue found Manning who was bleeding and unconscious, police said.
Officers arrived, gave Manning medical aid and took him to Hennepin County Medical Center, less than a block away.
No arrests have been reported in the cases.
Including Sunday’s death, Minneapolis has had 13 homicides so far this year.
Anyone with information about either killing is asked to send a text to 847 411, enter MPD and the tip or call the tip line at 612-692-TIPS.
