Sex offender charged with raping girl A Level II sex offender in Minneapolis is charged with raping a 15-year-old girl who is a friend of his son.

Christopher Lee Tate, 32, was charged Tuesday with four counts of criminal sexual conduct, two of first-degree and two of second. According to the criminal complaint in Hennepin County District Court:

The girl ran into Tate's son at a park Saturday and went to Tate's house. The girl later fell asleep, and Tate told her she could sleep by herself in his bed. But later that night, Tate climbed in and began assaulting her, the complaint said.

She was able to push Tate off her, but Tate wouldn't let her leave, according to the complaint. He apologized, brought her back to the bedroom and had his son sleep next to her, the complaint added. When she woke Sunday morning, she left and called police.
