A 19-year-old man from Eagan crashed his car into a guardrail in Inver Grove Heights and was killed, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 8:05 p.m. Thursday on Hwy. 55 near Hwy. 3, according to the State Patrol, adding that the road was dry at the time.

The driver was identified early Friday as Carter S. Weber, a 2016 graduate of Eagan High School who played hockey for the Wildcats.

Weber's westbound car drove off the highway into the median before it hit the guardrail and a bridge pillar, the patrol said.
