ID'd: Woman, 97, who died in 5-car St. Louis Park crash

Authorities said Margaret Bauer was a passenger in a car that was involved in the five-car pileup that happened Saturday afternoon on Hwy. 7 and Texas Avenue in St. Louis Park.

A woman killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Saturday in St. Louis Park has been identified as a 97-year-old woman from Victoria, the Hennepin County medical examiner's office reported Sunday.

Authorities said Margaret Bauer was a passenger in a car that was involved in the five-car pileup that happened Saturday afternoon on Hwy. 7 and Texas Avenue in St. Louis Park.

The medical examiner said she died at the scene and as a result of multiple blunt force trauma as a result of the crash.

No one else needed medical attention. St. Louis Park police are still investigating the cause of the crashes.

Bauer was one of three people who died in weekend crashes.

In Wright County, two drivers were killed in a three-car crash on Friday night.

According to the Wright County Sheriff's Office, shortly before 10 p.m. dispatchers got a report of a car crash in the 8300 block of 10th Street NE. in St. Michael.

Two of the drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Several passengers and a third driver were hospitalized. The identities of those killed and injured were not released.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office said on Sunday that they would probably not be available until Monday.
