ID'd: Man killed in crash just off St. Michael's I-94 exit

Killed in the wreck was a passenger from Monticello in a car. His identity has yet to be released.

A two-vehicle crash Monday morning near St. Michael's Interstate 94 exit has left a 70-year-old man dead, according to authorities.

The collision occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Hwy. 241 near O'Day Avenue and leading to a gas station, the State Patrol said.

Killed in the wreck was car passenger David F. Larson, of Monticello.

According to the patrol:

The car was turning left from southbound Hwy. 241 onto O'Day and was hit broadside by a pickup truck heading north.

The car's driver, Vincent Villavicencio, 54, of Monticello, was taken to North Memorial Medical Center with noncritical injuries. The pickup driver, 54-year-old Bruce G. Plante, of Buffalo, Minn., escaped injury.
