The identities of the two drivers killed in a three-vehicle crash on a rural road in St. Michael were released Monday morning.

Killed in the wreck Friday night were Mary Jo Meyer-Buskey, 55, of Buffalo, Minn., and Zachary Lee Jennings, 22, of Plymouth, the Wright County Sheriff's Office said.

According to the Sheriff's Office:

Meyer-Buske was heading west in her SUV in the 8300 block of 10th St NE., when she collided with Jennings' eastbound car near Steele Lake.

A third vehicle, an eastbound car driven by Gretchen Root, 30, of Minneapolis hit the other two vehicles. An ambulance took Root to Buffalo Hospital.

Also injured and hospitalized were three passengers in the SUV: Jonathan Meyer, 41, of Alexandria, Minn., Kimberly Meyer, 54, of Alexandria, and Sonja Sjolander, 38, of Buffalo.

Sheriff's Capt. Greg Howell said the point of impact between the SUV and Jennings' car was "near the center of the road," leaving investigators to continue trying to "determine who crossed the center line."
