Scores of crashes and spinouts on Twin Cities metro roads were reported Saturday morning, as below-zero temperatures made bridge and overpass surfaces treacherous, though in many cases the pavement looked clear.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation's map of morning crashes showed an especially slippery area on the Interstate 494 bridge over the Minnesota River, near the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

No fatalities or serious injuries were reported, but MnDOT cautioned drivers to slow down and beware of slippery areas.

Highs in the metro area aren't expected to rise above zero this weekend.
