The U.S. Department of Justice has launched a civil rights investigation after federal agents fatally shot Minneapolis man Alex Pretti.
Deputy U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed the investigation during a Friday news conference, but he sought to downplay its scope. “I don’t want to overstate what’s happening,” he said.
Federal agents arrested a Twin Cities independent journalist and former CNN anchor Don Lemon after they reported on a protest at a Twin Cities church earlier this month.
Journalist Georgia Fort’s attorney said she was arrested at about 6 a.m. and taken to the Whipple Federal Building.
