Interstate traffic from southeastern Minnesota over a Mississippi River bridge heading into Wisconsin was blocked for several hours Thursday morning because of a semitrailer truck that crashed and caught fire, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 7 a.m. on the Interstate 90 bridge connecting La Crescent, Minn., and La Crosse, Wis., according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash closed the eastbound lanes until about 10:50 a.m., the Wisconsin State Patrol said. The Minnesota State Patrol said the crash occurred on the Wisconsin side of the bridge.
The truck driver was taken to a hospital, the Wisconsin State Patrol added.
