HUNTING TIP

Walking to a deer stand in the morning and from it at night often is done in the dark. Some hunting accidents would be prevented if hunters always carried a flashlight with them en route -- and kept it lighted. Doing otherwise assumes either that no one else is in the woods, or that whoever is in the woods won't fire an errant shot in the dark. Potentially dangerous assumptions, both.

Additionally, firearms should be hauled up into a stand by a hunter using a rope, and of course should be unloaded at the time. Hunters who carry rifle ups into their stands, either in their hands or across their backs, place themselves at unnecessary risk.
