St. Louis County authorities said human remains have been found in the ashes of a hunting shack near Tower in northeastern Minnesota.
A statement from the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said the owner of the hunting shack discovered that the structure had been destroyed Saturday evening, and found the human remains in the burned-out shack.
The cause of the person's death, the person's identity and the cause of the fire have not been determined.
The Minnesota fire marshal's office and the St. Louis County medical examiner's office are assisting with the investigation.
The site is about 6 miles southwest of Tower and about 80 miles north of Duluth.
