Hughes only starter to earn Twins' trust so far

A total of 67 pitchers in 2012 and 2013 combined threw 200 innings in a season. Even in this era of pitch counts and bullpen specialists, that's enough for each team to have a couple of those modern workhorses.

But none of the 67 pitched for the Twins.

The fact that Phil Hughes topped 200 innings Friday, becoming the first Twin since Carl Pavano in 2011 to do so, is a reminder of what Hughes has meant to this staff and also of just how deficient the starting staff has been in recent seasons. He's still the only starter the Twins should trust going into 2015.

Wowski SB Nation noted via Twitter that every point in the Raiders/Patriots game was scored by a player whose name ended in "kowski."

No, really Ray Rice is reportedly going to use the quality and editing of security tape as an argument in appealing his suspension to the NFL.
