Howling Winds on the West Coast

High winds are being fueled along the West Coast, creating troubles likedangerous travel and damage like downed tree branches and power lines.Strong winds with gusts between 40-60 mph will hammer the West Coast today,especially across northern and central California. Later in the day andtonight, winds will be increasing in Southern California.

High profile vehicles like semi-trucks could be overturned, while flights willlikely be cancelled by the high winds.

Some Californians could be dealing with power outages as localized power linescome down. Winds of 60 mph are even strong enough to cause some shingle androof damage to houses.
