***UPDATE: Howie's makeup date at the Fine Line will be March 10. Original tickets will be honored. Refunds are bing given to anyone who can't make it that night.

Howie Day has already cancelled shows this week in Milwaukee, Ames and Omaha due to an undisclosed illness, and now comes word that he has to bow out of his show tonight at the Fine Line as well. Word is he will make up the date ASAP, so tickets will be valid for whenever the new show is scheduled. In the meantime, fans can still catch the openers Serena Ryder and Matt Lowell FOR FREE tonight at the Fine Line. The show is open to anyone and everyone over 18 and will start at the usual 9 p.m. Toronto-reared soul-rocker Ryder played an impressive set at the Basilica Block Party this past summer, showing hints of Melissa Etheridge and Patty Griffin. She won a Juno Award (the Canadian Grammy) for her best adult-alternative album with 2008's "is it o.k."

Geez, what a problematic week at the Fine Line. Everclear's show there this week also got shuffled around from Thursday to Monday because of tour routing troubles.
