How Wild handles goalies will seal 2014-15 fate

If I'm the Wild, here's what I do about the most pressing offseason issue of goaltending: Assuming Darcy Kuemper is healthy, I go into next season riding him as the No. 1 goalie. I let Ilya Bryzgalov go. I hope/believe that between Niklas Backstrom and Josh Harding I can cobble together enough of a backup plan to get through to the trading deadline. At that point, if I have at least two healthy goalies and one of them is playing well enough to be a playoff starter, I stand pat. If not, I make a trade deadline move to get the best rental goalie available, paying less of a premium than it would take to carry another goalie for a full season.

good sport Patrick Kane, who scored the OT winner in Game 6, is shown by NHL.com giving compliments to the Wild in the handshake line.

sky is falling Mike Trout is so good that a mini-slump causes national publications to fret. Read about his May woes at SI.com.
