HOW TO USE YOUR HOMEMADE CULTURE

Yogurt:

• Topped with granola and berries

• In a salad of cucumbers with mint and cilantro

• Mixed with mayonnaise in curried chicken salad

• On top of spicy black beans

• To marinate chicken or turkey before roasting or grilling

Crème fraîche:

• On top of berries and pound cake

• To top burritos and tacos

• On top of baked potatoes

• Mixed with mayonnaise for potato salad or coleslaw

• Substitute for sour cream for dips and spreads

• Folded into whipped cream to top chocolate cake or fruit pies

Kefir:

• To marinate salmon or tuna before grilling

• To blend with equal parts fruit juice and ice for a smoothie

• To pour over granola and top with fruit

• Sweeten with sugar and vanilla to taste and pour over crushed ice
