• Holiday plans: A two-day event (Dec. 16-17) at which parents can pick out toys for the their children and receive a basket of food, including a turkey.

• Greatest need: New toys for girls ages 9 to 12 and gifts for teenagers.

• Donate money: Accepts PayPal donations at www.southernanokacommunityassistance.com.

Toys for Joy (North Metro Area Association of Realtors)

• Phone: 763-323-4982

• Holiday plans: A one-day event at the Anoka armory to give out toys to parents of children and food baskets including frozen poultry, fresh bread, and potatoes.

• Greatest need: Prefers money donations, to buy toys in bulk at a discount.

• Donate money: Send checks to the Christmas Committee, PO Box 755, Anoka, MN, 55303.

Community Emergency Assistance Program (CEAP)

• Holiday plans: A one-day event (Dec. 16) at the Brooklyn Park armory to give out food baskets with frozen poultry and toys.

• Greatest need: Gifts for children ages 11 to 16; donors asked to bring them by Dec. 11.
