What's the best thing to do when people are laughing at you? Laugh at someone else.
That's one of the reasons behind the website Damn You Auto Correct (damnyouautocorrect.com).
It's a place where cell phone texters send examples of how the spelling-correction functions of their phones "fixed" their shorthand spellings and often left them being teased mercilessly by the message recipients.
The site was launched three months ago by Jillian and Michelle Madison, public-culture critics whose main site, Pophangover.com, includes links to several reader-driven sites, including ones on horrible food (worstthingi everate.com) and horrible gifts (whydidyoubuymethat.com).
Here are some recent examples of text messages gone bad thanks to technology:
•We're watching the Sound of Music. They're singing the anal device song. (Edelweiss)
•I've been snacking on the children. (Chicken)
•How's your day going? Response: I have a bad case of the Manboobs. (Mondays)
