Homicide victim identified as Brooklyn Center man

The victim of a fatal shooting in south Minneapolis earlier this week was a Brooklyn Center man, the Hennepin County medical examiner said late Thursday.

Koley Juvar Banks, 33, died at Hennepin County Medical Center on Tuesday after being shot, the medical examiner said.

Banks was shot in the area of 24th Street and Nicollet Avenue, where police were called Tuesday afternoon on a report of shots being fired.
