"Jaws" gets a heart-stopping homage in "The Shallows," a nifty little thriller that latches on as ruthlessly as its great white antagonist and refuses to let go.

Blake Lively stars as a medical student seeking solace on a secluded Mexican beach, only to be trapped 200 yards offshore by a huge shark. Breathtaking cinematography provides a brief respite to the gasping horror.

The Blu-ray (Sony, $30), out Tuesday, dishes on creating the CGI monster and the actual filming in Australia.
