Traitor or whistleblower?

"Citizenfour" (R, Anchor Bay) is a you-are-there portrait of Edward Snowden, traitor or whistleblower — take your pick. It was filmed in 2013 by director Laura Poitras as the NSA data research specialist met journalist Glenn Greenwald in a Hong Kong hotel. Their interviews were conducted to begin news reporting of Snowden's exposure of secret government surveillance programs tracking hundreds of millions of Americans' e-mails and phone calls. The conversations are detailed and dramatic, although they don't reach the crescendos of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' doomsday soundtrack. Extras include a New York Times talk with the principals and the late David Carr.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
