Hobbled McCants helps Tar Heels win • NO. 2 NORTH CAROLINA 80, NO. 25 VIRGINIA 65: Rashanda McCants had 23 points and 10 rebounds despite suffering an ankle injury in the first half, and the Tar Heels defeated the Cavaliers on Saturday in the Atlantic Coast Conference women's semifinals in Greensboro, N.C. The top-seeded Tar Heels (29-2), who have won 12 in a row, will face No. 12 Duke in the final today.

NO. 3 TENNESSEE 63, NO. 21 VANDERBILT 48: Candace Parker scored 17 of her 25 points in the first half for the Lady Vols (29-2), who routed the Commodores (23-8) in the SEC semifinals in Nashville.

NO. 6 STANFORD 64, OREGON STATE 41: Jayne Appel shot 8-for-8 and finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Cardinal (28-3) in a Pac-10 quarterfinal in San Jose, Calif.

NO 7 LSU 66, KENTUCKY 49: Sylvia Fowles' 20 points and 13 rebounds helped the top-seeded Lady Tigers (27-4), beat the Wildcats (15-15) and advance to the SEC final.

NO. 10 CALIFORNIA 67, OREGON 60: Natasha Vital had 14 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the Golden Bears (25-5), who beat the Ducks (14-17) in the Pac-10 tournament.

NO. 15 UTAH 82, UNLV 46: Leilani Mitchell had 14 points and 13 assists for the Utes (27-3, 16-0), who extended their winning streak to 22 games and became the first Mountain West team in seven years to go unbeaten in the conference.

NO. 24 MARIST 78, ST. PETER'S 67: Rachele Fitz had 18 points and 12 rebounds for the top-seeded Red Foxes (30-2), who advanced to today's Metro Atlantic title game in Albany, N.Y.

YALE 64, HARVARD 58: The Crimson's loss in New Haven, Conn., cost Harvard the outright league championship, forcing a three-way playoff this week with Dartmouth and Cornell for the Ivy League's automatic NCAA bid.

ATLANTIC SUN: Latisha Belcher had 24 points and eight rebounds in leading East Tennessee State (22-11) to its first NCAA tournament berth with a 75-72 victory over Jacksonville (23-9) in the tournament final in Nashville.

OHIO VALLEY: Murray State (24-7) earned its first NCAA women's bid with a 69-58 victory over Eastern Illinois (19-13) in Nashville.
