June 7, 2009 at 7:25PM

On Monday, warmth and humidity approaching that of summer will spill overthe Appalachians to the mid-Atlantic. Thanks to intervals of sunshine, widespread highs ranging in the 80s will be set, with near 80 degrees intoparts of New York and New England. The leading edge of air humid enough to breed hit-or-miss thunderstorms willreach over Pennsylvania and New Jersey into western and southeastern New York.

Meanwhile, farther north, dry air out of eastern Canada will affordrain-free weather in most of New England through northern New York.
