Strong, southerly winds will whip the Southwest on Monday as a Pacific stormrolls inland.Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and West Texas will have widespread strongwinds during the late morning through the early evening. At this time, windgusts of 40 to 50 mph will be widespread.
One impact of the winds will be to make for tricky driving, especially forhigh-profile vehicles. This problem will be greatest on east-west roads such asinterstate highway I-40.
The strong winds could also kick up enough loss dust to restrict visibility.
Fire danger will get a boost from the wind and low humidity.
