Fresh off a successful spring trip to Arizona, defending Class 3A baseball champion and No. 1-ranked Burnsville opens its season with a stern test, playing at South Suburban rival Eagan (4:15 p.m. Monday), which itself is a top 10 team in Class 3A.
The big test for the Blaze will be how well its potent offense adapts to the new BBCOR bat rules, which are meant to make the performance of bats more closely resemble that of wood.
