Hey, it's yet another alien-invasion movie

Here's the trailer for "Falling Sky," an upcoming sci-fi drama on TNT, produced by Spielberg.

Nothing sends shivers down my spine like having small child recite the sequence of events. Reminds me of "Taken," another sci-fi cable show produced by Spielberg, which had irritatingly wise, axiom-laden speeches voiced by little Dakota Fanning at the start of every show. I think I quit watching 2/3rds of the way through. It was like the X-Files without the suspense or interest or Dana Scully.

Now we have "Falling Skies," which appears to be an alien invasion movies like . . . oh, I don't know, Skyline, V, Battle: Los Angeles, Cowboys & Aliens, The Darkest Hour, Super 8, and of course Battleship, a PopCrush favorite. It's only a matter of time before someone comes up with a movie about Alien vampire zombies, which would combine all the popular cultural memes. Better yet, hungover man-child slackers battling alien vampire zombies. Jack Black and Zach Galifianakis would sign on in a second.
