Here's what $2 Million-plus can get you; bowl speculation

Coach Brewster looking for a shorter commute?

Greetings

First of all, hope you all had a good Thanksgiving Day/weekend. A lot of games went the Gophers' way this weekend, in terms of keeping the Gophers warm during bowl season. But first:

Apparently, coach Tim Brewster has his 6,600-square-foot Shorewood home on the market. Actually, I understand the house has been on the market 81 days, which means it was put up way back in early September. And so this probably has more to do with a desire for a different place or a shorter commute than anything else.

Still, it's a nice place. One-story, six baths, four bedrooms, media room, game room, the whole works. Property taxes alone on the place go fore $16,642!

Now, on to the bowls.

Oklahoma State losing to Oklahoma in convincing fashion would indicate more than ever the Big Ten will get two teams in the BCS mix. That means the Gophers would avoid Detroit. According to the pecking order in conference bowl deals, that means it's Michigan State and Minnesota -- both 6-6 -- for the Alamo Bowl and the Insight Bowl. Because the Alamo has avoided taking the Gophers in the past, most assume the Gophers are due for a return trip to Phoenix.

But I talked to some folks associated with the Alamo Bowl and they say the Gophers are still a big part of the mix. Of course, that's what you'd expect a bowl rep to say. Still, I can't help get the feeling there is a chance the Gophers play in San Antonio this time around.

That's about it. Have a good day
