HENNING, Minn. - A Henning man will spend some time in jail after pleading guilty this week to gross misdemeanor driving while intoxicated in a case in which a man died after being found lying on a highway.
James D. Seaver, 48, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 365 days in jail, with all but 30 days of it stayed for six years.
The criminal complaint says that on the night of July 18, 2010, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office got a call about a man lying on Hwy. 210 in rural Henning.
The man, Dajun Honer, 31, had been riding in the car with Seaver. Witnesses say Honer opened the door and fell out. Seaver allegedly drove away without checking on Honer, who later died at a local hospital.
