63.4 million Americans ages 16 and up volunteered in 2009, 1.6 million more than in 2008.

37.5 percent of Minnesotans volunteered last year, third behind Utah and Iowa.

37.4 percent of Twin Citians volunteered, first in the nation among large cities.
