General help: Call 211 in most parts of Minnesota for local information about food, housing, employment, childcare, transportation, health services, senior services and other needs. Available 24 hours a day.

Senior Linkage Line: Closed during the shutdown. For information and referral for a wide range of senior issues, call the closest of eight regional Area Agency on Aging offices. In the seven-country metro area, call 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 651-251-5762.

Disability Linkage Line: Closed during shutdown. Call the closest of eight regional Center for Independent Living offices (www.macil.org). In the Twin Cities metro area call 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 651-646-8342.

Food help: For information about food shelves, food stamps and other programs, call the Hunger Solutions Minnesota helpline 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1-888-711-1151.
