Help! His vacuum is being held hostage

When a business that has your property suddenly goes dark, what can you do?

Lon Seifert of Minneapolis says his vacuum cleaner is being held hostage. He brought his $300 Bissell cleaner to a Twin Cities repair shop in March. The owner said he would replace the belt and have it ready in a few weeks.

But no one answers the shop's phone, and the building is closed and dark every time Seifert swings by to check on his machine. Through the window, he can see other vacuum cleaners with white repair tags, meaning he's probably not the only customer with property in limbo.

"I feel like it's been stolen," Seifert said. "At this point, I don't care if it's repaired or not. I just want my property back."

While Whistleblower looks into what happened, what do you think Seifert should do about his lost vacuum cleaner?

UPDATE: Whistleblower stopped by the business Thursday evening and saw this note on the door. It's the first explanation that's apparently been offered for the sudden closing of All Brands Vacuum on Chicago Avenue South in MInneapolis.
