Dec. 8, 2008: Hecker-owned Advantage Rent-A-Car files for bankruptcy.

Early 2009: Ford, Chrysler sue Hecker.

April 28: Chrysler wins $476.9 million judgment.

June 4: Personal bankruptcy filing.

June 17: Hecker's offices, homes raided.

September: Federal grand jury considers charges against Hecker.
