Almost four years have passed since Twin Cities music lovers first got hip to Solid Gold's golden-hum of a debut album, "Bodies of Water," and finally we have a chance to hear something from the band's long-awaited follow-up record. Spin debuted the first single from the sophomore disc earlier this week, a thickly textured and high-wavering track called "The Pendulum," which we've also posted below.

The song is the third of 10 tracks on "Eat Your Young," which will arrive Oct. 23 via the Gayngs- and Poliça-affiliated local label Totally Gross National Product. No info on a hometown release show has been released, but an in-store at the Electric Fetus is at least in the works. With their new sibling backers Jeremy and Jake Hanson (of Tapes N' Tapes and Halloween Alaska, respectively), the trio will hit the CMJ Fest in New York for a whopping six shows this weekend to promote the record.
