Politicians, media outlets, blogs and Twitter were buzzing with news about the Supreme Court's much-anticipated decision on the Affordable Care Act Thursday morning.
On the Star Tribune website, more than 700 comments have poured in since. Emotions range from supportive to jubilant to critical to down-right angry. We fed 350 readers comments into Wordle, a free word-cloud generator, to get a picture of what readers were saying. "Insurance," "health," "tax," "Obama," "Roberts," and "care" were, not surprisingly, among the most widely used. The decision's quirkier language, like "broccoli" and "wizardry" didn't make the cut. Other, perhaps not so obvious, ones also emerged from the word-stack. Among our favorites: "Car" and "the Supremes," (though that unfortunately didn't make it). Some readers likened the new law to the requirement to buy car insurance. The analogy sparked a short debate. And the Justices' new moniker, perhaps a shout-out to the Detroit-based singing group led by Diana Ross, is, well, ingeniously irreverent.
