A head-on crash on a highway southwest of the Twin Cities has claimed the life of a 19-year-old woman, who was among five people injured in the two vehicles, authorities said Sunday.

Ebony M. Liebl, of Arlington, Minn., died at Hennepin County Medical Center on Thursday, according to the medical examiner's office.

Liebl was a passenger in a car that crossed the center line on Hwy. 19 east of Henderson, Minn., late in the afternoon of Aug. 16 and struck a large pickup truck heading the other way, according to the State Patrol.

Seriously injured in the car were the driver, Kristopher J. Hipp, 27, of Arlington, and Devon A. Estes, 19, of St. Peter, Minn., the patrol added. Surviving their injuries in the pickup were a couple from Morgan, Minn. — Donald J. Tauer, 56, and Catherine M.S. Tauer, 55, according to the patrol.

Authorities have yet to say why the car entered the opposite lane on the highway, which the patrol said was wet from rain at the time.
