Two men were fatally injured early Wednesday in a head-on crash in Becker County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Bruce Vidden, 58, of Detroit Lakes, was driving north on Hwy. 59 at County Road 104 just north of Detroit Lakes when his van collided with a southbound SUV driven by Duane Koltes, 74, of Fargo, N.D., just after midnight.
The State Patrol said one of the vehicles crossed the centerline and struck the other, although they have not said which vehicle crossed the line. Roads were dry at the time of the crash. The patrol continues to investigate.
Vidden died at the scene. Koltes was taken to a hospital in Fargo, where he died.
Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
