Fall bird migration continues, and so do opportunities to see raptors as they fly south above Hawk Ridge, Duluth's world-famous hawk migration observation site. To be up on the ridge, which overlook the Duluth harbor, watching birds of all kinds fly over and by, is a special event. If this wonderful weather continues, take a day to make a visit. The count for Sunday, Oct. 17 was: 1 Turkey Vulture, 42 Bald Eagles, 1 Northern Harrier, 60 Sharp-shinned Hawks, 2 Cooper's Hawks, 6 Northern Goshawks, 228 Red-tailed Hawks, 2 Rough-legged Hawks, and 1 Merlin.
