ProAct's Golf Classic fundraiser returns to the Hastings Country Club Aug. 16. The 18-hole event begins with registration from 10 to 11:30 a.m., followed by an early lunch and a shotgun start at 11:45 a.m. An auction and a gourmet dinner will follow the game.

Jazz festival gets new format This year's Art and All that Jazz festival will feature a reconfigured format with an indoor, paid headline show on the first night and free performances, an art show, and food the next day.
The Larry Carlton Trio will play the event's kick-off show in the Burnsville Performing Arts Center Aug. 20. Tickets are $32 for general seating and $152 for VIP tickets, which include a reception and a meet-and-greet with Carlton.
The next day's lineup includes headliner Jesse Cook; Lao Tizer with Karen Briggs and Chieli Minucci; Steve Clarke and the Working Stiffs; Jack Brass Band, and local group the Penguins. The shows will take place in Nicollet Commons Park. Organizers plan a child-friendly area that will include an "instrument petting zoo."
The Carlton show is at 8 p.m. Aug. 20. The festivities on Aug. 21 run from noon to 10 p.m. For more information, see www.burnsvilleartjazz.com .
