Hastings' finance director has resigned, after 15 years of working for the city. Charlene Stark has been on paid administrative leave since late July following a complaint to the City Council, said Melanie Mesko Lee, Hastings' city administrator.
Mesko Lee declined to share details of the complaint, citing confidentiality.
Stark's resignation will be considered by the council at Monday's meeting, Mesko Lee said, adding that because Stark resigned, there would be no final disciplinary action taken against her.
Stark came to Hastings to serve as assistant finance director in 2000, moving up to finance director in 2005. Before that, she worked for the city of Bloomington.
