MnDOT crews worked fast over the weekend so the Hwy. 61bridge over the Mississippi RIver near Hastings is back open.

The bridge wasn't supposed to open until later tonight long after the rush hour, but crews finished the work 18 hours early and the road is back open.

That should make the drive home for motorists in the southeast metro a bit easier. After a frantic and long commute this morning, this should be a welcome sight.
