Harvin is latest Viking to drop out of Pro Bowl

The rookie wide receiver won't be playing in the NFL's all-star game.

Vikings rookie wide receiver Percy Harvin sounded as if he was very close to declining his invitation to the Pro Bowl when asked about playing in the game on Monday morning.

By the end of the day, Harvin had made it official, joining Brett Favre and Antoine Winfield as Vikings who declined spots on the NFC roster for the game that will be played on Sunday in South Florida. Harvin will be replaced by Bears rookie wide receiver and return man Johnny Knox. Harvin was named to the team as a return man.

The Vikings had 10 players named to the Pro Bowl but by my count currently have seven players who will be in the game. That list includes left tackle Bryant McKinnie; left guard Steve Hutchinson; wide receiver Sidney Rice; defensive end Jared Allen; defensive tackle Kevin Williams; running back Adrian Peterson; and special teams player Heath Farwell.
