Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin, who collapsed on the practice field Thursday after experiencing a migraine headache, is alert and resting comfortably but will remain in the hospital overnight, according to a statement issued by coach Brad Childress.
Harvin was taken off the practice field by ambulance to Fairview Southdale hospital in Edina after falling to the field while watching drills. Childress left shortly after the practice so he could be with Harvin and several players also have spent time at the hospital.
Wide receiver Bernard Berrian provided some encouraging news via Twitter this afternoon, writing that "Percy's doin fine. Prayers still goin out though."
Anyone who saw Harvin double over and then fall was shaken up and the Vikings cut short their practice.
Harvin has been in the hospital before because of this problem -- the last time was when he was a sophomore at Florida -- but this was the first time all of his teammates saw exactly how bad this problem can be.
Harvin has experienced migraines since he was 10 years old and has dealt with them in recent weeks following the death of his grandmother.
