Hannibal Buress and Dana Gould cancel at Acme

The stand-up stars both cancelled May dates at the Minneapolis comedy club. Funny men Chris Porter and Cy Amundson will serve as replacements.

With a stacked line-up, May was looking like a powerhouse month for Acme Comedy Company in downtown Minneapolis. But two big cancellations have put a rain cloud over that notion. First, superstar-in-the-making Hannibal Buress cancelled his May 17-19 dates. The club is trying to reschedule. Buress absolutely kills on stage and will probably graduate from the club circuit to small theaters within a couple of years. Watch this clip. He's being replaced by "Last Comic Standing" finalist Chris Porter (tickets are $15):

I also just got word that the comic's comic, Dana Gould, had to cancel next week's shows on May 10-12. Acme owner Louis Lee once told me that Gould is his favorite comedian of all time. Management said the former "Simpsons" writer got pulled away from his Acme gigs by a potential TNT pilot (a good problem to have). He's being replaced by Cy Amundson, a funny Twin Cities comedian who just appeared on Conan (he'll perform May 8-12, $15). Check out his Conan appearance:
