Maybe it really does all work out in the end. Rob Hahn, the former gubernatorial candidate whose ex-wife obtained a protection order against him, is now writing a blog on family court and divorce issues for the Huffington Post. Hahn was an unsuccessful Independence Party candidate for governor in Minnesota earlier this year, and in July had to answer questions about a protection order his ex-wife obtained against him more than a year before. In the request for a protection order, she said Hahn put her in a choke hold and threatened to kill her during an argument. In his first online blog for the Huffington Post, posted two days before Christmas, Hahn wrote a "Divorced Dad's Guide to the Holidays' column. In it, he advised divorced fathers that "Simple is okay" and to "Remember both sides of the family." He ended the column with a section entitled, "Let Love Rule." Hahn said Tuesday that his problems with his ex-wife had little to do with starting the blog, but said his interest in family law issues that go back to his campaign platform did play a role. During his campaign, Hahn made reforming family law and child custody regulations a key part of his gubernatorial bid. "It's fair to say a lot of what I observed and experienced [in going through a divorce with children] is behind my drive," he said.
