Guthrie casts announced

Stars of upcoming productions include British actor Daniel Gerroll, who played Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol," Tony nominee Dearbhla Molloy, Peter Michael Goetz, Sun Mee Chomet, Michelle O'Neill, Regina Williams, Stephen Yoakam and Greta Oglesby

Daniel Gerroll

The Guthrie on Wednesday announced stars for its season-opening productions.

British actor Daniel Gerroll, who played Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol" last year, will team up with Tony nominated Irish performer Dearbhla Molloy to play Benedick and Beatrice in Joe Dowling's production of "Much Ado About Nothing."

The cast of the Shakespearean comedy includes Bill McCallum, one of the stars of the theater's current production of "God of Carnage"; Michelle O'Neill a Guthrie Shakesperean standout ("Macbeth," "The Winter's Tale, "The Merchant of Venice"); and Guthrie favorite Peter Michael Goetz. Sun Mee Chomet


Actor Sun Mee Chomet heads the cast of another production -- "The Burial at Thebes," directed by Marcela Lorca ("Caroline, or Change") with original compositions by J.D. Steele ("The Gospel at Colonus"). The cast includes Greta Oglesby ("Caroline or Change," "In the Red and Brown Water"), Regina Marie Williams ("Caroline or Change"), Guthrie stalwart Stephen Yoakam ("The Winter's Tale," "A Delicate Balance") and Ansa Akyea ("In the Red and Brown Water," "The Winter's Tale"). (Sept. 24 - Nov. 6.).

Ali Rose Dachis The Guthrie also announced that actor Ali Rose Dachis, a versatile graduate of its BFA program who performed in "Circle Mirror Transformation" a few seasons ago, will star in Obie-winner Adam Rapp's new play, "The Edge of Our Bodies." Benjamin McGovern directs. (Oct. 22-Nov. 20).
