Gunshot is what killed Foley man found dead along road

A gunshot is what killed a man whose body was found last week along a county road east of St. Cloud after he was reported missing more than three months earlier, authorities said.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that it still needs the public's help in tracking down whoever is responsible for the shooting of Jamie R. Wylie, 31, of Foley, Minn.

Wylie, a native of Cottage Grove, was last seen by friends in St. Cloud on Dec. 9. Family reported him missing on Dec. 15.

Friends and relatives searched in vain for him. Police went to his home Dec. 20 and found his wallet and identification.

On March 25, a passerby spotted Wylie's body behind an auto dealership along County Road 75 and notified law enforcement.

The Sheriff's Office is asking for anyone with information about Wylie that could help the investigation to call Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-255-1301.
