Atmospheric conditions will become more conducive for tropical stormdevelopment toward the end of this week from the western Caribbean to thesouthern Gulf of Mexico as a tropical disturbance approaches from the east.Over the past several days, the disturbance has not been able to intensify dueto shearing westerly winds aloft, but as the system moves into the westernCaribbean over the next couple of days, it will encounter less wind shear aswell as some very warm water.
The system has the potential to become a named storm by the weekend as ittracks toward the west and northwest.
