Reader Kevin Hagstrom sends in this report from last night's 17-7 Eden Prairie victory over Eagan, where Vikings RB Adrian Peterson served as the Wildcats' honorary coach. Also check out a couple of videos from Kevin right here and also right here (he addresses the crowd in this one).

For one night the Vikings' Adrian Peterson set aside the challenges of being the NFL's leading rusher to take on a new one — coaching. Peterson served as an honorary coach of Eagan High School's homecoming game against Eden Prairie Friday night as a result of the school winning vitaminwater's "make A.D. your high school's hydration coach" contest. Eagan has won the contest two years in a row. vitaminwater also donated $3,000 to Eagan's athletic department. Peterson personally acknowledged the school's spirit and support to a sprightly Wildcats crowd.

"Once again Eagan High dominated the vitaminwater challenge, and I'm here – just for you guys," Peterson said. "I figure out where's my fan base. It's here in Eagan."

Concerning coaching, Peterson didn't do much beyond offer support. "Get down the field, down to play and let's get this win," said Peterson to a chorus of cheers as he concluded the vitaminwater presentation. He ran out with the team at the start of the game, high-fived players during the pre-game introductions and talked to individuals on the Eagan sideline, where he remained through halftime of an eventual 17-7 Wildcats loss.
