Fall for mums

Colorful long-blooming chrysanthemums are one of the most awesome of autumn plants. The Fall Flower Show in the Sunken Garden of the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory features hundreds of mums of many different cultivars. Colors are black and orange in October and black and pink in November.

The show is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Nov. 26 (except Oct. 30-Nov. 3 for show change). Free. 1225 Estabrook Dr., St. Paul. Go to comozooconservatory.com.

Herbalicious

Winter months can leave home cooks longing for fresh, flavorful herbs plucked from their gardens. Learn how to grow and care for herbs at home over the winter at the Indoor Herbs class at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
