Groups speaking out on marriage amendment at state fair

Care for some politics with that fried food on a stick?

The main group working to defeat the proposed marriage amendment (Minnesotans United For All Families) as well as the group in support of it (Minnesota for Marriage) will be out in full force at the Minnesota State Fair, which kicks off today and ends Sept. 3.

This morning, a group of Minnesota clergy from a range of denominations are holding an event near the fairgrounds entrance, where they will be encouraging voters to defeat the measure set for vote Nov. 6.

If passed, the amendment would change the state constitution to define marriage as a union between a man and woman.

Both Minnesotans United and Minnesota for Marriage will have booths at this year's fair, where they will be handing out materials highlighting their causes.
